Applying Cash Receipts in Sage 300cloud

Sage 300cloud's Quick Receipt Entry allows you to record payments from customers and prepare deposit slips. The applying of the cash receipts to customer invoices can occur separately. Here's how to handle that unapplied cash in the A/R module.

Applying Cash Receipts in Sage 300cloud

This example assumes that an unapplied cash receipt has been recorded.

First, navigate to Accounts Receivable | A/R Transactions | Receipt Entry

  1. Use the Lookup to locate the receipt and select it to show details on the screen.
  2. The amount to be applied is visible in the Receipt Unapplied field.
  3. There are 2 methods to identify the outstanding documents to which apply the receipt. Tagging the Select Mode box will display documents based on the selection criteria. Un-tagging the Select Mode box will allow you to directly enter the invoice number to which you wish to apply the receipt. In this example, we are using the Select Mode.
  4. Click on the Apply field for the invoice to which you wish to apply the receipt. The Apply Field toggles between Yes and No.
  5. Save the Receipt Entry. The Receipt Unapplied amount will be reduced by the amount applied to the document.
  6. Click Post to post the batch and finalize the application of the receipt.
